Pen Pals Program

Overview:
Befriend and mentor an elementary school student by writing 2 or 3 letters a month.  All ages can volunteer as a Pen Pal.

Key duties:    

• Write and deliver one letter a month
• Help students with their writing skills
• Be a good role model
• Attend a year-end luncheon where Pen Pals meet

Qualifications:

• Able to relate well to children
• Dependable
• Willingness to follow guidelines
• Able to maintain confidential information

Supported by:  Staff person at the school and the DARTS Learning Buddies Coordinator

Rewards:    

• Opportunity to help a local child
• Helping a child develop a communciation skill
