DARTS is under contract with The Metropolitan Council to provide Transit Link and Metro Mobility ride services in Dakota County. DARTS uses professional, courteous, and trained drivers in specially equipped vehicles.

• Transit Link service through DARTS began May 3. Transit Link is dial-a-ride minibus service for the general public that must be reserved in advance. You may reserve a ride for any purpose, based on availability. Transit Link service is curb to curb, with limited assistance. It is intended to serve areas where regular transit route service is not available. Riders can transfer between service areas and between Transit Link and regular transit routes.

• Metro Mobility service through DARTS has a new ride reservation phone number as of Monday, June 28. The number is 651-602-1180. Metro Mobility is a shared public transportation service for certified riders who are unable to use regular fixed-route buses due to a disability or health condition. Rides are provided for any purpose. Metro Mobility is first-door through first-door service. Drivers escort riders from the first entry door at their pickup through the first entry door at their destination.

DARTS Awarded Metropolitan Council Transit Link Contract

On March 24, 2010, the Metropolitan Council voted to award DARTS a five-year contract for Transit Link service in Dakota County. This is part of restructuring dial-a-ride services region-wide to ensure that rides are provided wherever regular route bus service is not available. DARTS is pleased to have been awarded this contract as it extends our mission of promoting the full participation of all generations in community life.
