Volunteer as
a Family
Spend time together as a family and teach youngsters
to get involved in their community at an early age.
Some things your family can do to help an older neighbor
are: shovel
snow from the driveway and sidewalks; share a holiday
activity; become a visitor or grocery shopper; help
with lawn care or raking leaves.
Visitor
Every senior enjoys a special friend. Enjoy sharing
coffee, lunch, a walk, or helping with errands just
a couple hours weekly.
Caregiver Respite
Support
Give a weekly break to someone caring for their loved
one. You'll supervise and socialize with the older
adult needing care.
Grocery
Shop/Errands Help
Help an older homeowner maintain a routine at home
by shopping for groceries or running errands -- sometimes
you'll go, sometimes the person you're helping will
come along.
ILP
(Independent Living Program)
South St. Paul high rises
Spend some time serving noon meals, visiting,
sharing a brown bag lunch, or running errands for
older high-rise residents.
