Outdoor Chore Help

Think Winter! Join the Winter Rescue Team

Volunteer NOW to help an older neighbor remove snow from their sidewalk and driveway. This year, we have more elders seeking help than we have volunteers ready to help. Without more volunteers in place, we won't get to everyone this winter. Join our Winter Rescue team and sign up  as an individual, pair, or group for this outdoor volunteer activity. Check out the "snow angel" video and Winter Rescue Facebook page. If you can help, call 651-455-1560 or e-mail.

Outdoor Chore Volunteering: Yard Work or Snow Shoveling
If you enjoy working outside, be a DARTS outdoor chore volunteer. You'll help older neighbors with outdoor tasks that are difficult or impossible to do on their own. In the winter, help an older person get out and stay safe by shoveling their driveway and sidewalk after any 2-inch snowfall. Buddy up with friends, co-workers, members of your church group or sports team, or gather your family to rake and tidy up the yard of an older homeowner in the spring or the fall. Spend an afternoon weeding a flower garden in the summer. You'll benefit from the exercise while helping the homeowner maintain a sense of pride in their yard.
