Wed., Jan. 26: National Conference Call with Seniors on Affordable Care Act

Join in on a national conference call discussing the benefits of the Affordable Care Act for seniors. Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary, US Department of Health and Human Services, is conducting the call Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 2:00 p.m. CST. Secretary Sebelius will be joined by Assistant Secretary for Aging, Kathy Greenlee, and Jonathan Blum, the Director for Medicare at CMS.  Participants will have the opportunity to ask a limited number of questions at the conclusion of the call.

Give to the Max Day is a Winner

All nonprofit organizations participating in GiveMN's "Give to the Max" day Nov. 16 are winners because more people become aware of their worthy cause. DARTS is no exception. Many thanks to everyone who took some time to get to know us, and a special thanks to those individuals who made a contribution. We raised more than $1,500 toward our year-end goal of $35,000 in recognition of our 35 years of serving community.

DARTS is Transit Link Provider for Dakota County

Late March, the Metropolitan Council awarded DARTS a five-year contract for Transit Link service in Dakota County. The service began in May. This is part of restructuring dial-a-ride services region-wide to ensure that rides are provided wherever regular route bus service is not available. DARTS is pleased to have been awarded this contract as it extends our mission of promoting the full participation of all generations in community life. Winner of 2009 National Award for Caregiver Education

DARTS'  Workplace Eldercare Seminars (WES) program was awarded the 2009 National Family Caregiving Award for caregiver education.  DARTS was one of seven winners nationwide, and the only Midwest representative. DARTS is pleased to have been awarded the Charities Review Council "Meets All Standards" seal. We meet all 16 accountability standards, which demonstrates responsibility, integrity, and transparency. DARTS Online Auction Raised $10,000

The DARTS Online Auction: Celebrating 35 Years ended on October 31. Bidders competed on some great items right up to the close of the auction. The auction raised $10,000 toward our goal of $35,000 in celebration of DARTS' 35 years of caring action in our community. Many thanks to all the sponsors, bidders, item contributors, and others who made our very first online auction a success.
